In conversation: Simon Balderstone AO

In this special recorded discussion, Simon Balderstone AO shares insights from an extraordinary career spanning journalism, government, major international events and community advocacy.

Simon worked for three Labor legends – Graham Richardson, Bob Hawke and Paul Keating – and advised them on the environment, Indigenous affairs and sport.

Simon worked as a journalist with The Age and, after leaving his position in the Keating Government in 1995, he worked as general manager for the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.

As a journalist, Simon was a member of the first Australian Mount Everest Expedition in 1984 and in 2001 he became Founding Chairman of the Australian Himalayan Foundation.

Simon remains a passionate advocate for the environment, Indigenous issues and social equity and we are extremely lucky to have secured his time to share some of his learnings and wisdom.
