HOST: Five community batteries have been built in Lake Illawarra, Flinders, Albion Park Rail, and two in Oak Flats, with all sites to begin operating by mid this year. Member for Whitlam, Carol Berry, says the facilities are on top of the 10 community batteries the government had previously delivered in Dapto, Shell Cove and East Bowral. The community batteries store excess solar power during peak generation times and release it back to surrounding participating households when demand is high.
